FAQ
Whenever I click on some of the forums, as a guest it brings me to the login page and tells me I have to login in order to view this page. Why is that?
This is because this is a members only site, therefore in order to view some of the forums you'll have to become a member. And in order to post you'll have to become a member, but you do get to roam around and get a feel of the site.
What is this site about?
There's not much to it. This is a forum, like many that is for teens/young adults/etc who are a part of the "LGBTQ" community. They can come here and talk about all sorts of things that are going on. At LGBTQ Centre, we try to center around LGBT issues and other issues such as school, and daily teen life. So it's a mix of all different things.
Why do you have the common ground section? Isn't that a bit...mean?
I don't know why I have it. I thought, if I made a common ground section, Bisexuals would be able to connect with other bisexuals and lesbians would be able to connect with lesbians. So it's exactly what it says; common ground for everyone. Nobody can understand another person completely if they don't connect with them on some level and that's all I was trying to do. If it comes off as mean or that I'm "segregating" everyone from each other I'm not because there are many portions of the board that people of all different sexualities can just talk.
Why are questioning teen and straight teen in the same board on the common ground category?
Because on some level, straight teens can connect with questioning teens. Questioning teens commonly question what their sexuality is and the same goes for straight teens. There's a sort of slight connection between the two, plus I didn't want to make another forum.
Where is the chat box?
Conveniently located at the top of the forum, but members, upon logging in have another chat option. Must have Java though!
What if I'm 12, but I'm turning 13 in a few months?
But you're not thirteen, correct? Well, I can't stop you from joining, but just know you have to be 13 and older in order to register. It's the ToS rules for proboards.
What if I'm on this board for a long time and all of a sudden I turn 26? Can I still stay?
Of course you can! If you join before the age of 26, I can't tell you to leave; that would be irrational, because the age is 13-25. You have to get older, but you must register before you turn 25. Anyways, you are more than welcome to stay.
How many staff members do you have?
As I'm writing this...none. But I plan to have one or two staff members to start out with.
What do I do after I register?
Introduce yourself! Head over to the Introduce oneself forum and post a small little intro so we know something about you. And if you don't want to do that, then explore the board.
What do you offer at this site?
I could say we offer a lot of stuff and leave it at that, but I won't. At LGBT Centre, we offer a general chat area where you can talk in the cbox with other members, a roleplay area, a game area so you can just unwind. We also offer an advice section, so if you're in need of advice on anything you can go there. We offer a community area, where you can post blogs, and personal stories. We also have a common ground area so you can meet with others in your certain group. There are a lot of things offered here - just look around and you'll see.
